This year the tents moved to Lincoln Center, and I loved the new efficient check-in with scanners—it was just like boarding a Jet Blue flight. Looks like those bottlenecking, long-lines we used to deal with are a thing of the past. Good job Stephanie Winston!
My week got off to a great start with Elie Tahari’s show, which was sleek and well-edited.
Vera Wang’s collection was beautiful! I took my friend, Stephanie Pratt, and we had the best time. The show was fabulous—but how could it not be with Mario Grauso at the helm and Vera working her magic. Really, it was a perfect show from start to finish.
Tory Burch had one of the prettiest, most stylish, colorful, and wearable shows that I have seen in a long time. The whole thing was great; I walked in to the Cure blasting, and then turned to see Anna Wintour being walked through the presentation by Tory, with Kanye West (in a hot pink blazer) following close behind.
And then there was Michael Kors, the King of luxurious American sportswear. His shows are like being at a fun party with supermodels walking the runway in gorgeous double face and cashmere. Michael is the only designer who walks the entire catwalk to loud cheers and roaring applause. I always leave his shows in the best mood, with some great song stuck in my head.
My Fashion week closed with an amazing panel discussion called, “Own Your Power” which was organized by O Magazine. Of course, anywhere that Adam Glassman is, I know it’s always going to be a top tier event. The panel included favorite ladies of mine such as Gayle King and Vera Wang, this event had a heart. There were so many moving stories, and they all revolved around a central theme: our power, as women, comes from within.
My fashion week finale: Dom Perignon had a dinner as a tribute to Andy Warhol. It was held at Villa Pacri, a restaurant owned by my favorite ex-Bilboquet boys. Vera Wang, Evan Lysacek, Russell Simmons, Courtney Love, Swizz Beatz, Thom Felicia and Greg Calejo, Stuart Parr, Nicky Hilton and Lennox Lewis mingled with a chic New York, Warhol-loving, fashion crowd.
Here are Stephanie Pratt and I at Vera Wang:
